Listening to old school Biggie, watching one of the mini-horses across the street from my new place dry-hump the air. It’s pretty funny, this mini horse is literally just dry humping the air and I have nothing better to do than observe. Life’s been good. Livin on my own for the first time in quite awhile, and lovin it. I literally try to work on songwriting everyday, I always have time to run melodies over chords and shape a song just a bit closer to show quality, no matter what else I have going on.
I’m happy to announce I’ve been working with a new manager who is also dealing with the majority of my show bookings. This is a huge relief as I have managed and booked myself for years, which proved to be very cumbersome and often kept me from more musical and creative endeavors. We welcome to our Team Tyler Rehm, our new manager.
We just returned from South By Southwest in Austin, Texas. A great festival, a great experience. We got 3 showcases and made the most we could with them, met a lot of artists and were able to get some significant networking done. Tons of talented people down there! The city is just vibey too… you need to get there, have some Tex-Mex, ride a mechanical bull on 6th Street. Big props to Shinobi Niji , a great band from Brooklyn NY, who helped us onto the bill and also ruled the festival!!! http://www.myspace.com/ShinobiNinjaMusic
Also, big thanks to the Palumbo’s… and Adrienne for putting us up proper!
Soon to come for us is a revamp of out website with flash and an online store. Here is the link to the online store: http://mikedroho.bigcartel.com/
We are also are partaking in a new fundraising venture from a company called KICKSTARTER that offers really cool incentives to our fans and friends for donating money to our cause. For relatively small donations you can get one of a kind t-shirts, one of a kind songs written for you, rare recordings, autographed albums, free concert tickets, and even private performances. I’ll be in touch soon with more details on how you can help us buy a desperately needed touring vehicle.
I'm judging the Project M Competion this year. Here's my blog. Looks like it's gonna be fun! http://projectmblog.1055triplem.com
A new live album is in negotiations, as well as numerous tour dates around the entire country for the fall http://mikedroho.com/tour.html
Be in touch soon, in the meanwhile, be good.
